My Story
I am a longtime musician, record engineer, avid bass angler, camper, Youtuber, technologist, coach of many sports, Cavs fan, proud Ohioan, man of faith, father of two, husband to an amazing wife. Through all my life experiences, I’ve always gravitated towards opportunities to work with people. These experiences have made me a student of social engagement and the teaching and learning process.
I began teaching in public education in 2010 and haven’t looked back. Two years into this career I committed myself to providing students with a variety of differentiated learning opportunities and meaningful long lasting education. Over the following years, I've committed to modify the tools of technology to craft my teaching practice and promote my students to become creators, not consumers, of education.

My goal in education is to continue bridging the wholistic values of education to meet the rapid changing demands of today's world. While technology is rapidly changing, educators are always striving to stay ahead of the wave. My goal as an educator and educational technologist is to continue learning how education can be improved through the use of technology. However, I believe it is imperative to identify the value of technology and how it can assist in the learning process, but not become the learning process.
Developing creators, not consumers
My goal is to design learning opportunities, and teach other educators how to design learning opportunities that promote students to create products of education, rather than the traditional efforts of consuming. This goal facilitates both students and educators to new levels of ownership, engagement, and promotes deeper learning.

Safety and Emotional Awareness
My goal is to facilitate to my students, fellow educators, and community a greater awareness of safety and emotional well being, with emphasis around technology and digital literacy. Collaborate with community members in designing and sharing supports for digital safety and emotional awareness associated with technology.

Engaging the community
My goal is to collaborate with students, educators and community members, through the use of technology, to establish meaningful education and relationships. Utilize the use of technology to bridge gaps between the local educational institution and its community, and establish a greater awareness towards community diversity.

Continued Professional education
My goal is to acquire new practices to enhance the learning environment that advocates and supports student achievement and high levels of learning of common core standards for all students; through increased knowledge of strategies for student learning, classroom management techniques, technology integration, cross-curricular ideas, including gaining more knowledge of various differentiation strategies that are useful in the classroom to enhance my curriculum and collaborate what I’ve learned with my colleagues.
